Solar Faithful webinar - Michigan Interfaith Power & Light

Solar Faithful webinar

Michigan IPL invites you to learn about how your congregation or faith-based nonprofit can get solar through a new initiative called Solar Faithful.

By installing solar, faith communities can demonstrate their commitment to climate justice and environmental justice. Installing solar is a visible way to help address the challenges posed by the climate crisis, reduces air pollution that threatens the health of our most vulnerable communities, and saves money for your ministries.

Solar Faithful is putting solar panels on the rooftops and/or
property of congregations across Michigan with:

  • no upfront cost to congregations
  • at least a 10% reduction in electricity cost
  • maintenance over the life of the panels

Solar Faithful connects faith-based organizations with expertise and financing to adopt solar. Financing options include direct purchase, congregant loan financing, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA, third-party funding). PPAs involve no upfront cost to the congregation, no maintenance and at least 10% savings over the 25-year agreement.

Solar Faithful is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit collaboration founded by Michigan Interfaith Power & Light, the Climate Witness Project, and Chart House Energy.
