In 2002, Fr. Charles Morris, a Catholic priest and our first board president, convened a diverse group of faith leaders and founded Michigan Interfaith Power & Light as a faith response to global warming. Michigan IPL is part of national Interfaith Power & Light and was the fourth state to join. There are currently 40 state affiliates who reach a total of 18,000 faith communities across the country.
Our current board members aid in our mission by conducting their own outreach campaigns on behalf of Michigan IPL, assisting staff with larger projects inside and outside of the office, and assisting with financial support where possible. If you or someone you know may be interested in participating on the Michigan IPL board, please contact our office.
