Michigan IPL has held three Sustainability Workshops to date, in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids and Detroit. The workshop has introduced over 55 participants from around the state to our Sustainability Framework, which serves as a guide for congregations to use in building sustainability initiatives in their houses of worship.

We are in the process developing the workshop further and planning future events. To learn about the next Sustainability Workshop event, check back here or sign up for our mailing list.
About the Workshop:
- Part I provides an opportunity to explore connections between faith traditions and sustainability through presentations and discussion with a panel of faith leaders.
- Part II introduces participants to the Sustainability Framework for Faith Communities and guide them through the process of developing an action plan appropriate for their own faith communities. Participants will learn how to engage their communities in a conversation on the moral calling to ecological sustainability and incorporate sustainability into their congregations.
Participants will also be introduced to resources to facilitate their efforts, including:
- Denominational resources that make connections between faith and ecology
- Community resources for implementing sustainability initiatives
