LIEEF, the Low Income Energy Efficiency Fund, was eliminated in 2011. This fund provided energy efficiency resources to low-income households in addition to monetary assistance. Instead of putting a Bandaid on problem of high utility bills, the energy conservation work aimed to educate and empower families to lower their monthly bills. Here are the stories of Detroit residents who were impacted by the Fund.
