In 2008, legislation was put in place to require Michigan utilities to generate 10% of their energy from renewable sources (like wind and solar). We are on track to meet that goal, but without legislative action to extend and strengthen these standards in 2015, our progress on clean energy will stall.
You can help bring about a clean energy future for Michigan by learning how to be an effective advocate. Join Michigan IPL and the Sierra Club for the Own Your Power Advocacy Workshop!
When: Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Royal Oak Public Library (222 East 11 Mile, between Main and Troy St.)
Our keynote speaker will be Jim Nash, the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner. He will be joined by voices from the business, health, environmental, and faith communities.
